Aloha! My name is Timothy Wiley, and I am a rising junior at Stanford University studying Earth Systems Science with a minor in Religious Studies. My educational journey has been a bit unconventional—I’ve studied at three different institutions over the past three years, carrying with me the stories and lessons learned from each.
Born and raised in Hawaiʻi, I hope to pursue a PhD in Earth Systems Science at Stanford with the long-term goal of becoming a climate ecologist. My research interests focus on understanding how ecosystems respond to our changing world and how religion shapes human responses, with the goal of informing sustainable land management practices across Hawaiʻi.
Outside of academics, you can usually find me scrolling social media, (enthusiastically but not always skillfully) playing volleyball, thrifting, caring for my plants, and spending time with my family and with Jesus.
Join me as I follow where God leads me on this journey into ecology!
