– Support research on religion, ecology, and climate ethics through archival work and digital scholarship for ACRE.
– Document eco-ritual practices for the University of British Columbia Department of Religious Studies database.
Stanford Sustainability Research Program (SURGE) Stanford, CA (June 2025 – Present)
Student intern under EPIER student Flora Xuʻs environmental psychology project “Urban Human-Nature Interactions: Experience Sampling and Wellbeing Analysis” investigating urban human–nature relationships, with research exploring how religious worldviews shape environmental identity and conceptions of nature.
Stupski Foundation Food Justice Intern San Francisco, CA (December 2025 – June 2026)
– Authored weekly policy briefs on food accessibility in California, including a policy analysis on the Republican “superbill” H.R.1 and its implications for SNAP regulations in California and Hawaiʻi. Concluded the internship with a 15-minute capstone presentation and a 17-page research paper, Harvesting Toward Hell, examining how religious eschatological beliefs shape environmental injustice and philanthropic systems in Hawaiʻi and California agriculture.
Carnegie Center for Plant Biology Lab Technician Stanford, CA (October 2025 – January 2026)
– Lab technician for Andrea Nebhut’s California serpentine grassland project, responsible for seed sorting, data collection, archival, and overall project maintenance.
Harvard Forest Research Intern Petersham, MA (June 2025 – August 2025)
– Intern working under Dr. Reinmann in his project “Fragmentation & Climate Change: Impacts of forest fragmentation and water availability on ecosystem carbon fluxes and tree ecophysiology in temperate forests”
– Designed an independent research question examining relationships between forest fragmentation, water availability, and ecosystem carbon dynamics; analyzed soil respiration, methane, and moisture datasets in R (tidyverse, ggplot2), and presented findings identifying soil moisture as a stronger limiting factor than temperature.
Pinyon Community Action Project Stanford, CA (February 2025 – June 2025)
– Research assistant under Dr. Paul Burow, contributing to community-based climate resilience research through qualitative data coding, survey implementation, and analysis to inform climate policy and community needs assessment
DaBUX (Double Up Food Bucks) Policy Researcher Honolulu, HI (February 2024 – March 2024)
– Collected data on the lack of funding for SNAP programs by contacting each program’s state representative, discovering that Hawaiʻi had one of the lowest state incentives in the U.S.; presented findings to state legislators, leading to the passage of the DaBUX bill, which secured $8.4 million in state funding for program
Waiʻanae Soil Health Lab Assistant, Researcher Honolulu, HI (October 2023)
– Assisted a PhD student in the University of Hawaiʻi’s Plant Pathology program by providing Waiʻanae farmers with pesticide alternatives through sorghum biofumigation, and supported soil collection and project setup
ʻŌhiʻa Lehua Project, Researcher Honolulu, HI (September 2023 – November 2023)
– Independently tested 6 organic pesticides on Ceratocystis fimbriata, the pathogen responsible for the biosecurity threat Rapid ʻŌhiʻa Death, in pursuit of an effective treatment
– Identified 2 as effective in inhibiting growth through testing absorbance, collected soil samples of infected trees and cultured fungi from soil

COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT & POLICY EXPERIENCE
Purple Maiʻa Food+Policy, Intern Honolulu, HI (January 2024 – May 2024)
– Tracked 128 food/agriculture related bills during legislative session, created community dataset for public on status of bills
– Advocated for SB 2414 (sustainable food systems) by creating social media posts, speaking with senators and organizing a petition endorsed by 40 farmers scientists, and EJ advocates
Student Advocates for Environmentalism, Founder and President Waiʻanae, HI (December 2023 – May 2024)
– Empowered 75 students in G2FO (Going to Finish on Time) cohort to vocalize opinions on environmental issues in Waiʻanae coast, connected peers with SB2414
– Conducted independent study on food insecurity, with findings published in Honolulu Star-Advertiser. Tracked food reliance across community colleges, highlighting Waiʻanae’s disproportionately high dependence on food banks, and advocated for sustainable agriculture solutions
Kipuka Native Hawaiian Student Center, Peer Mentor Hilo, HI (January 2023 – May 2023)
– Mentored 10-15 Native Hawaiian students per week, and connected peers with campus resources such as educational resources, teaching materials and scholarships
